I posted it on reddit, but it did not get any speed.
So that's what's going on: Our company was recently bought by another web shop and I was promoted as head of development in my office. Our office is completely .NET / SQL Server and the company that bought us is a * niks / php / mysql store. Now there are some of our big customers who are NET platforms are on full platform to re-write (Sites are from '04 and running on 1.x framework.) While reviewing the proposal for a customer, I have a very comprehensive module in which I Several hundred hours are required in relation and some concerns are expressed about it. One of the PHP group's people listens to it and tells me about a module that they use in Drupp (PHP group) which actually offers a proposal to me and it only takes up to 8 hours. Setup / Configure My best suggestion is that I question Drupal and module at the end of the week but stressed that we should just go that route if it really understands Comes.
At the end of this week I started playing with a CentOS example Virtualbox and Drupal. I'm still throwing it out, so there is not a concrete opinion yet, anyway I have some questions / doubts that I was hoping that I can help in the project!
- Has anyone experienced this kind and if so, how did it come out?
- I'm completely unaware that the IDE for PHP (if any) is available the last time I worked with PHP, it was in Notepad and if it was less than intuitive then what is PHP Is there more intuitive IDE for Dev?
- I do not want to scare my .NET people. Since the merger, all our new business customers have found relatively few websites, which are available on Doppla with bigger sites Going on the net. My concern is that if they see a large site that they go to Drupal, they can begin to get worried and start their beginnings. There is no plan to end the NAT platform for the near future, and in reality we can not do only with the support point of view.
- Any other useful information?
Thank you!
and both solid IDEs have concrete autocompletions / intelligence.
I have worked on applications that Java does not require a full rewrite / platforms, so sometimes Java via Java code (via soap).
To not scare your .NET people, just tell them,
".NET platform"
