This failed to find quite a few content type schemas. What do I do to Sharepoint Trying, and why a simple process of replicating a custom content type F. Rome will not work for a web other than just the information found on the web eg. .

Content types are defined in the XML file (files that live in the file system 12) . If you want to copy any content type from a web application to another, you should make sure that these definitions are also copying.
I would recommend you to install the feature that contains these custom content types on each of your targeted web applications.
