I'm using the HTML5 canvas by coding the original mapping application. I have tried to figure out whether any JavaScript API is used to manage objects in the canvas such as collision between images or shapes. I think this is not a good idea to write your own because there can be some good APIs around it. Any clue or some information about this is very much appreciated.
Recently I am experimenting with myself I found that Box2DJS is a great Newtonian physics engine , If you want to try it out
It is difficult to understand this concept first, but as you walk, it becomes as easy, and it also comes with some good examples. Box 2D has been placed in many languages, and mostly uses the same, or very similar methods, so the documents of any port will be in line with your requirements.
Good luck :).
EDIT: I found a link to this documentation on the site I was told earlier: (Due to my low reputation I can not make a hyper link to limit it to each post, I can I'm a Nob; p)
For Box2DFlashAS3, but they claim that "Box 2 DJs APIs are completely like [Box] 2DFLashS3" Edit: Oh, I have noticed that You know the collision, not physics, my bad Were looking for .. Maybe Box 2D could still work, but probably not. Sorry about that ...
