I am using VS2008 / VS20105 with the recharger, Tortoise SYN 1.6.8.19260-x64, and Ankh SVN 2.1.8420.8. The majority of the work I do in Visual Studio looks fine in SVN, however, when I try to submit my changes, then rename folders in a project can cause issues. All namespaces in C # source files under the folder need to be updated to rename.
What is the best way to rename the main project folder or any sub folders and to ensure that problems with SVN? Should this view be done outside the studio?
What is the best way to update all namespace changes?
Yes, change your name outside of Visual Studio
Using TortoiseSVN in windows explorer, change your name through the TortoiseSVN context menu on the folder in question. In Visual Studio the project will detect changes on the disc and ask you to reload.
< P> You can also exit the project in Visual Studio, then rename it And then re-add the new route. Edit: Below @ Sander Rijken, the name of the NSVN changes and ensures That's the name change is correctly registered in the SVN work copy.
If you have not installed the XSVN in addition to the TortoiseSVN, even though this will not work and you have to do as I said above.
